TRAINING COURSES
We offer the following training courses. Currently, only our private pilot certificate course has a full ground-school class option. All other courses are strictly one-on-one between the student and instructor.
NOTE: Estimated cost of training are for part 61 training, based on averages, and are for planning purposes only. Due to the proficiency-based nature of flight training and delays due to weather/maintenance, the actual cost will vary by student.
Private Pilot Certificate
Estimated Cost: $12,000.00
The private pilot certificate course is designed to teach you basic flight maneuvers, airplane systems, aerodynamics, night flight, cross-country navigation, Federal Aviation Regulations, and develop the skills and attitude necessary to be a proficient, safe, private pilot. We offer a prescheduled group ground school option for this certificate several times a year.
Instrument Rating
Estimated Cost: $12,000.00*
By attaching an instrument rating to a private pilot certificate, the instrument pilot may now operate in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). This rating is very useful for pilots who intend to fly long distances frequently. It is a required step for pilots looking to enter the commercial sector of general aviation and beyond.
*Assumes student has 35 hours of PIC cross-country time.
Commercial Pilot Certificate
Estimated Cost: $8,000.00*
Commercial pilots are authorized to operate aircraft in which they are rated for compensation or hire under most parts of the FARs (not including scheduled air carriers). This allows the pilot to gain entry-level employment as a pilot and also qualifies them to begin flight instructor training.

Flight Instructor Certificate
Estimated Cost: $6,000.00
Certificated flight instructors (CFIs) are authorized to instruct students on the ground and during flight on procedures and maneuvers. The instructor must be certificated to the commercial level in that category and class of aircraft. After gaining experience as an instructor, they may also train new instructors.
Instrument Instructor Rating
Estimated Cost: $4,000.00
CFI's with an instrument rating are authorized to instruct students on the ground and during flight on procedures and maneuvers for IFR flight and to earn an instrument rating. After gaining experience as an instrument instructor, they may also train new instrument instructors.
