TRAINING COURSES

We offer the following training courses. Currently, only our private pilot certificate course has a full ground-school class option. All other courses are strictly one-on-one between the student and instructor.
NOTE: Estimated cost of training are for the training course only, are based on averages, and should be used for planning purposes only. Due to the proficiency-based nature of flight training and delays due to weather/maintenance, the actual cost will vary by student.

Private Pilot Certificate

Estimated Cost: $12,000.00

The private pilot certificate course is designed to teach you basic flight maneuvers, airplane systems, aerodynamics, night flight, cross-country navigation, Federal Aviation Regulations, and develop the skills and attitude necessary to be a proficient, safe, private pilot. We offer a prescheduled group ground school option for this certificate several times a year.

Instrument Rating

Estimated Cost: $12,000.00¹

By attaching an instrument rating to a private pilot certificate, the instrument pilot may now operate in instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). This rating is very useful for pilots who intend to fly long distances frequently. It is a required step for pilots looking to enter the commercial sector of general aviation and beyond.
¹Assumes student has at least 35 logged hours of PIC cross-country time (not included in estimated cost).

Commercial Pilot Certificate

Estimated Cost: $9,000.00²

Commercial pilots are authorized to operate aircraft in which they are rated for compensation or hire under most parts of the FARs (not including scheduled air carriers). This allows the pilot to gain entry-level employment as a pilot and also qualifies them to begin flight instructor training.
² Assumes student has at least 230 logged hours of total flight time (not included in estimated cost).

Flight Instructor Certificate

Estimated Cost: $6,000.00

Certificated flight instructors (CFIs) are authorized to instruct students on the ground and during flight on procedures and maneuvers. The instructor must be certificated to the commercial level in that category and class of aircraft. After gaining experience as an instructor, they may also train new instructors.

Instrument Instructor Rating

Estimated Cost: $4,000.00

CFI's with an instrument rating are authorized to instruct students on the ground and during flight on procedures and maneuvers for IFR flight and to earn an instrument rating. After gaining experience as an instrument instructor, they may also train new instrument instructors.
